Love him or hate him we now at least know that, for as long as he lasts, we have a new Prime Minister (well tomorrow actually).
His proposals for cutting Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) might win him some friends. Radically, there might even be a positive reaction as more people decide to move and take advantage. I have long been of the view that SDLT is grossly unfair and actually suppresses the market.
We can only wait and see whether he lasts long enough to make this change and if he does what difference it might make.
